Jim Carrey is a Canadian - American actor, comedian and producer. He started his career as a stand-up comedian, performing at the The Comedy Store and later, at An Evening at the Improv in 1982. He made his big screen debut with Finders Keepers (1984), and went on to portray minor roles in Once Bitten (1985), The Dead Pool (1988) and Doing Time on Maple Drive (1992). Jim also appeared in a recurring role in the comedy show, In Living Color (1990-1994). It was his role as a lead character in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) gained him international acclaim for his comic performance. Subsequently, he went on to appear in successful films such as Dumb and Dumber (1994), The Mask (1994), Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), Batman Forever (1995) and Liar Liar (1997). His performance as Truman Burbank in The Truman Show (1998) and as Andy Kaufman in Man on the Moon (1999) won him Golden Globe Awards. Some of his notable works also include Bruce Almighty (2003), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Fun With Dick and Jane (2005), Yes Man (2008) and A Christmas Carol (2009) earned him widespread acclamation. He recently starred in Kick-Ass 2 (2013), and his upcoming projects include Dumb and Dumber To.
