Early Life :
Guy Stuart Ritchie is an English filmmaker. After leaving high school, he took a series of low- level jobs until he was introduced to the world of directing by a friend who made commercials.

Career Highlights :
His first film, in 1995, was a 20 minute short, The Hard Case, which impressed investors into backing his first feature film, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998). The crime caper was an international success, and was followed by Snatch (2000), another dark comedy about gangsters in London. He then directed Madonna in the 2002 romantic comedy, Swept Away. He returned to his dark comedy roots with Revolver (2005) and the Gerard Butler starrer, RocknRolla (2008). In 2009, he directed the first of two films in the action mystery genre, Sherlock Holmes, followed by Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in 2011. Both movies were major box office successes. His latest film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. starring Henry Cavill, is due to release in August 2015. He is currently filming Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur with Charlie Hunnam as the lead character.
