If you haven't heard the song ''Gucci Gang'' and its hypnotically addictive flow, you definitely need to check yourself. The viral smash, which peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2017, just hit 1 billion views on YouTube last month! Miami-born Gazzy Garcia, otherwise known as Lil Pump, began collaborating with rapper/producer Smokepurpp and releasing tracks online in 2016. His career shot right up since his tracks collected millions of plays in a relatively short time frame! He went on to collaborate with big names such as Lil Yachty, Lil Rich, Diplo and of course you can't forget to mention the one and only Kanye West and his iconic Spike Jonze-assisted video for the track ''I Love It''! Early last year, Lil Pump came out with ''Harverd Dropout'', which also features fellow hype rappers such as Lil Wayne, YG, 2 Chainz, Offset, Quavo, and many more. We bet he's still got many surprises up his sleeves, being only 19 years old with a shining career ahead!
- Adrian Khalif
Chill, creative, fashion-forward, fierce... just a few words to describe Adrian Khalif. He was exposed to hip-hop culture from a young age, living in New York city. Straight out of university, he signed with E-motion Entertainment and released ''Made in Jakarta'' in 2017, which featured Dipha Barus. In the same year, he was nominated for several Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards, and succeeded in winning the Best Rap/Hip-Hop Production category. His second single titled ''Flawless/Merona'' in 2018 proved that he was able to gain international reach and received a nomination for Best New Artist at Anugerah Planet Muzik, Singapore.
- Boyz Got No Brain
A product of the famous ''Pesta Rap'' album, Boyz Got No Brain are one of the very few talents that contributed in the compilation that continues to thrive until today. Xaqhala and Rullionzo, hailing from East Jakarta, established BGNB in 1992 and won their way into being featured on ''Pesta Rap'' through the rap festival IT Wonderland. Their single ''Nyamuk'' supported the compilation to become one of the best-selling releases of 1996. Each of them also have solo careers, releasing their own singles and albums, but now the boys are back under Hellhouse Records to hype things up again.
- Brown Sugar
Brown Sugar are back! With 5 musicians and 3 vocalists, this is Bandung-based band will surely make you bop along to beats from the hits. Forming in 1999, Brown Sugar made a name for themselves by performing fan favorites, covering hits from Boyz II Men, K-Ci &amp;amp; Jojo, Blackstreet, and many more. Members Bowo, Leo, Arief, Yoyok, Adiel, Yandi, Ronny, and Ipunk were brought together as bandmates by their passion to provide good quality r&amp;amp;b and soul music in Indonesia, which was quite rare at the time. They have since then moved on to produce their own single in 2017 titled ''Masih Kurasakan''. The song was played on heavy rotation in its first month, raking in 50.000 plays! It's no wonder their producer, the one and only Glenn Fredly, deems this band as one of the nation's pioneers of r&amp;amp;b and soul music!
Longtime friends Mohammed Kamga, Chevrina Anayang, and Tahir Hadiwijoyo make up Dekat, a Jakarta-based vocal trio formed in 2014. Meaning ''close'' in Indonesian, Dekat is meant to reflect the closeness of their friendship, which can also be felt in their harmonious singing. On YouTube, you can stream 11 of their official videos, which have gathered a total of over one million views. Dekat have released 3 EPs; their latest one titled ''Numbers'' (2018) was self-produced and consists of 8 songs all written by members of the group themselves.
An acronym for ''Dua Petaka Membawa Bencana'', this dynamic duo that formed in 2007 hails from Yogyakarta. The two are Heri Wiyoso a.k.a M.2.M.X and Alexander Sinaga a.k.a Donnero. Their first album RE-ATTITUDE was released in 2015, and was crowned the only hip-hop album included in Rolling Stone Indonesia's 20 Best Indonesian Albums of 2015! In the spirit of collaboration, DPMB featured Doyz of Black Kumuh and Anton GNTZ of Jogja Hip Hop Foundation's G Tribe in one of their songs. Full of in-your-face energy, their performance will for sure give you flashbacks of rap from back in the 90s!
Formed in mid 1999, Eyefeelsix booked their first gig in August of 2000 and it was no ordinary gig. Their first ever performance as a group was at the X'Freedom event at Bar69 in Bandung; considered one of the largest hip-hop events of the time since it gathered talents from every province in Indonesia! With a few member adjustments throughout the years, they're now back solid as ever to bring you their best.
This award-winning, Bogor-based hip-hop collective first became well-known for their collaboration with Bondan Prakoso, producing 4 albums from 2005 to 2013. After going their separate ways, Fade2Black proved to the masses that they were still just as strong as before with the release of their 2018 album ''Tabik!'', which is full of colourful collaborations with fellow musicians and rappers.
From your screens to the stage, we bring you Gamalil! One-third of the group GAC (Gamalil Audrey Cantika), he rose to fame by singing catchy covers on YouTube. Along with GAC, he's released 2 albums named ''Gamalil Audrey Cantika'' and ''Stronger''. He's also made quite a name for himself as a solo artist, releasing his own singles named ''Slow'' featuring Young Lex and ''Terpesona'' featuring Isyana Sarasvati. His songwriting skills are undoubtedly strong; songstress Raisa has recently released the single ''You'' whose lyrics were written by Gamalil.
Goldvoice; Dwix a.k.a Soul Sick, Tyo a.k.a. Big T-Black, Rovynus, Oddy, Wira a.k.a. 8Bless, Axer a.k.a Dirty Razkal, and DJ Cbee. Though they all have different personalities, they came together with the same mission; to shine the light on hip-hop in Indonesia, and to prove that this genre of music is more than meets the eye. Through their music, this rap crew from Bali are really passionate about the message that they spread on stage and aren't afraid to get political. Their lyrics echo about corruption, environmental damage, and defending minorities.
Some call her ''the Janet Jackson of Indonesia'', but we all know and love her as Imaniar! She jump started her career by performing in a band with her siblings called ''The Big Kids'', formed in the late 60s by her jazz musician father, Said Kelana. From the age of four, she's learnt how to play the saxophone and trumpet. With her energetic, funky dance moves, she totally got her groove on as a solo artist in the 80s R&B era. Did you know that her solo albums ''Hasratku'' and ''Kacau'' sold almost 1 million cassette copies?! It's no wonder she's got so many achievements, including The Outstanding Performance award at Finland's Midnight Sun Festival in 1991, performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1986, and winning the BASF Award as Best Female Recording Artist in 1995.
- Iwa K
Being the first ever to release a rap album in Indonesia, Iwa K is deemed the pioneer of rap/hip hop in the country! His wide range of musicality has lead him to successful collaborations with many of Indonesia's finest; Benyamin S., Chrisye, Gigi, Peter Pan just to name a few. This all-round artist has also made a name for himself as a presenter, actor, radio host, and theater performer. He was also chosen by Indonesia's National Basketball League to release the mini album ''Living in the Fastlane''. There's no slowing down for this local legend.

Rising to fame in the 90s as a coveted VJ for MTV Indonesia and MTV Asia, Jamie Aditya has since continued to climb to greater heights in the music industry. From judging Indonesian Idol to collaborating with musicians such as Rock N Roll Mafia and Glenn Fredly, he has now embarked on his own musical journey. His jazzy vocal character and range, which has been featured in 2 compilation albums (Indonesia Reggae Sound and Jakarta Soul System) was considered as a pinnacle performance of Indonesia's 2017 International Jazz Day. Ready to entertain your ears with songs from his latest album, LMNOPOP!
Introducing the freestyle king himself, Havie Parkasya a.k.a. Laze. It was at the young age of 15 when he won his first rap battle, and ever since then he has continued to conquer. A part of the infamous hip-hop collective ONAR, Laze is well-known for his smart use of Bahasa Indonesia in his lyrics. Dubbed one of ''10 Hip-Hop Artists of This Generation'' by Rolling Stone Indonesia in 2016, Laze has been featured on tracks by Noise, Mardial, and A. Nayaka and has featured alongside Yacko and Emir Hermono. His latest album ''Waktu Berbicara'' was just released in 2018 and has gotten amazing reception in the industry. He also teaches Hip-Hop Artistry at Double Deer Academy.
- Maliq & D'Essentials
The jazzy, soulful group that is Maliq & D'Essentials perfectly combines catchy tunes with English and Indonesian lyrics for everyone to sing along to. Since their first singles ''Terdiam'' and ''Untitled'' became instantly popular back in 2004, the group has continued to produce memorable music. In 2010, the band released a book titled ''The Beginning of A Beautiful Life'' filled with stories and snapshots of their journey. In addition to releasing 9 albums, they've also collaborate with many of music's finest such as Fariz RM, Dian PP, and Candra Darusman. On top of that, they've even released a DVD titled ''Maliq & D'Essentials: Essential Hits Recorded Live in London'', recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
When it comes to being multitalented, Marcell Siahaan is definitely your man. Not only is he an award-winning singer and actor but did you know he's also a skilled drummer? Yes, he was the beatmaker behind Bandung's hardcore band ''Puppen'' back in the day! Marcell rose to fame thanks to being featured on Shanty's 2002 hit ''Hanya Memuji'', but ever since then he's been producing hits after hits of his own. He's collaborated with legends such as Melly Goeslaw, Tohpati, Aksan Sjuman and EQ Humania just to name a few. In 2019, he celebrated his 17th year in the music industry by holding a concert where he performed 25 of his greatest hits.
- Mario Zwinkle
Hailing from Hellhouse Records, this rapper-slash-Mixed Martial Arts athlete has shot to stardom with his singles ''Funk Yeah'', ''Diyu'', and ''Knows Me Better''. But wait, there's more; in early 2019, he collaborated with the one and only Iwa K on another new single titled ''Beda''. This Yogyakarta native is currently in the middle of recording his 12-song solo album, which will be ready to feed your appetite for real talent in early 2020.
- Matter Mos
Jakarta-based rhymesayer, Matter Mos, is one to look out for! After only 4 years in the hip-hop industry, he won his first Anugerah Musik Indonesia award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Production for the single ''Decide'' alongside Dipha Barus, Ramengvrl and A. Nayaka. His reach has also gone international, working with Afrikan Boy (UK), Farbeon (US), Swerte from The Recipe (UAE), and many more. The bilingual rapper actively contributes to CSR projects done by the Pon Your Tone label; he's featured on the song ''We Are One'' which is the first-ever hearing and deaf musical collaboration in the world.
Lipooz, DirtyRazkal, D'Flow, I'm Rapholic and DJ Geramar are Mukarakat; a group of five who proudly rap in East Indonesian local dialect. Formed in 2017, they've had a lot of success through several singles such as ''Kuda Hitam'', ''Mari Jua Naik'', and ''Rompes'' (short for ''Rombongan Pesta'' or ''Party Group''). Speaking of which, the hit ''Rompes'' hit 1 million views on YouTube in only a week! Their unique style of combining hip-hop DJ scratches and modern, ethnic beats is a breath of fresh air for the scene in Indonesia, bringing a whole new meaning to the term ''local pride''! Their positive message of diversity is echoed in their single ''Indonesia VS Everybody'', which also features fellow rappers Ras Muhamad and Tuan Tigabelas.
- Preachja Crew
PreachJa Crew is the party division of PreachJa Records, consisting of DJs & MCs. Having experience in throwing the best new-school hip-hop parties since 2015, they now bring forth their best to entertain you at FLAVS! First there's 51dji who's heavily influenced by Atlanta trap. His debut album ''ISSUES'' is already out and hyping up the scene. Up next is Wicigo Shawty who stands out with his style of music that mixes new school hip-hop & pop-punk. His debut single ''Kaun di Guap has gained major recognition from the industry and on the streets.
After his hit ''Rockety'' got remixed by A. Nayaka, Kuzco started to gain a lot of attention and continues to thrive in the scene. Keep an eye out on his debut album ''New Babylon'' dropping soon! Completing the crew is Sippystrawgreg; a musician influenced by the places that he grew up in, comedians, magicians and his family. Combine all of those and top it off with his unique perspective, and you get his debut album ''Mattress My Time Machine''.
In a few short years Ramengvrl went from uploading demos on Soundcloud to winning best Rap/Hip-Hop Production at the AMI Awards for her hit song ''CA$HMERE'', Ramengvrl has since taken the world by storm clocking up support from some of the biggest names in the game.
- Ras Muhamad
Never failing to represent Indonesia in his attire and attributes, Ras Muhammad always succeeds to make the crowd vibe along to his reggae beats. After the success of his first 3 albums, he was given the chance to release the international album ''Salam'' in 2014 under Oneness Records (Germany). He's currently preparing another album under the label; ''Satryo'' is planned to be released in early 2020. A regular name at festivals in Costa Rica, the U.S.A., and Europe, Ras Muhammad was even invited to perform at the birthplace of reggae itself (Kingston, Jamaica), where he even ended up staying for 6 months.
- Rinni Wulandari
Most of us know her as Rinni ''Idol'', and believe us, she's definitely worth idolizing! Coming from a family of musicians, she won Indonesian Idol at the age of 17 and established a fanbase called the ''Rinnicious''. Her 2017 album ''Independent Part 2'' won her 2 AMI Awards, for Best Soul/R&amp;B/Urban Album and also for Best Record Album Producer. She then formed the duo ''Soundwave'' along with a certain DJ named Jevin Julian and now the both of them live happily ever after! Yup, it was thanks to this project that Rinni met her husband!
- Sade Susanto
''Checkpoint'' is Sade Susanto's first-ever album, which was released in Oktober 2018. Prior to that, she released 2 singles ''The Man Who Has Hurt Me'' and ''Excuses'', which are also included in ''Checkpoint''. She is part of the Semarang-based Hills Collective that focuses on neo r&b and hip-hop music. Her songs mostly revolve around heartbreak, but in the sense that it pushes people to overcome that sad experience. By the way, here's a little detail you probably didn't know about ''Checkpoint''; it's actually based on a game reference, where racers usually time themselves and see how far they've come. It's also a reminder to Sade herself to see how far she's come in her own life. Though she's really into r&b at the moment, she's very open to exploring other genres she's hinted at in interest in the folk genre!
He first came to fame through his 2006 hit ''So What Gitu Loh'' and continued to storm the scene with countless singles such as ''Jomblo'' and ''Ulangan Dadakan''. With such relatable lyrics, he became a hero to the youth and gained a massive following. Here's a fun fact; he actually admitted to not feelin' the vibe of rap music at first. However, after listening to the likes of Black Skin, Iwa K, and Neo, he finally found the light! The rapper, who goes by the name Igor, was also involved in a religious music group named ''Disciples'' along with fellow musicians JFlow and Guntur Simbolon. Oh, and did you know he actually opened for Pitbull himself back in 2010?! One thing's for sure; he likes to keep up-to-date with his lyrics. Just last year, he picked up on the discussion about the environment, and wrote a song titled ''Plastik'' which urges for a collaboration between the older and younger generations to protect the environment. The song even features the rapping skills of his son!
You know you'll be singing along to their tunes! T-FIVE, consisting of Ajier, Bheben, Paul, Yerry, Nino and Gordon will serve you a whole range of memorable musical moments. Starting their journey in 1999 performing in cafs, they now have 5 singles under their belt. Let's not forget all the recognition they've achieved; 3 Anugerah Indonesia Musik awards in the R&B genre, and MTV Indonesia's Most Favorite New Artist!
- Teza Sumendra
Teza Sumendra is a true r&b sensation. He's covered many songs with his undeniably soulful voice that instantly became hits on both YouTube and Soundcloud. For this gentleman, there's not a day that goes by without singing. We must not forget to mention that he's a triple threat, also skilled in acting and dancing in addition to singing. Having collaborated with many of music's finest such as Dipha Barus, SOVA, Dmust Akira and Jevin Julian, he's also conquered many stages not only in Indonesia but also abroad! Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Australia are just a few worth mentioning. Just last year, he released his latest album ''WKNDCRUISIN''. This singer surely has a bright future ahead
- Tuan Tigabelas
One of Indonesia's most promising rappers out there, he started out as a member of the experimental hip-hop band ''Rebel Education Project (R.E.P.). Along with the band, Upi a.k.a. Tuan Tigabelas released the album ''Letter To'', which was produced by Jawa of Maliq & D'Essentials under the Demajors label. He started going solo in 2017 and on the following year he stormed onto the scene with songs such as ''On My Mind'', ''Count Your Blessing'', and ''Do It''. His first solo album, ''Harimau Soematra'', released in mid-2019, is a collaboration with WWF Indonesia to contribute to the conservation of the Sumatran Tiger.
- Yura Yunita
This songstress' career is what dreams are made of. Yura Yunita, who's been singing and playing piano since an early age, had become an ambassador for Glenn Fredly's music portal, Musik Bagus Indonesia. Not only that, Glenn himself decided to become Yura's executive producer on her first album, which went on to win a whole bunch of achievements! Named ''Yura'', the album was chosen as one of the top 6 Best Indonesian Albums from Rolling Stone Indonesia, and Yura herself was considered as HAI Magazine's top 4 Best Female Singers! She even sold out her first solo concert! In 2017, she went on to establish her own label named AYURA, but that didn't stop her from winning more awards. She won the AMI Award for Best Female Solo Pop Artist in 2018, and in 2019, she grabbed the award for Best Pop Album thanks to her release of ''Merakit''.
