SYNOPSIS
Based on ''The Sentinel'' by Arthur C. Clarke, 2001: A space Odyssey is a unique 'drama of adventure and exploration'. It majorly has four sections (not parts). Broadly, it outlines the escapades of the spacecraft Discovery One, which is bound for Jupiter. Most of Discovery's operations are controlled by the ship's computer, HAL 9000 (voiced by Douglas Rain), referred to by the crew as ''Hal''. This drama is gripping, surprising almost throughout and is popular for its scientific accuracy, pioneering special effects, ambiguous imagery, sound in place of traditional narrative techniques, and minimal use of dialogue.
