Ashish Hemrajani is the founder and CEO of BigTree Entertainment. An MBA in Marketing from Sydenham institute of Management, Mumbai University, Ashish started his career in 1997 at J. Walter Thompson (JWT) as an Account Manager and worked with brands like Hindustan Petroleum and CEAT Tyres. After working at JWT for two years, Ashish decided to start his own venture and set up Big Tree Entertainment in 1999, with a clear focus of providing cutting-edge digital solutions to the entertainment industry. He has been a pioneer in bringing the concept of online-ticketing to India.

While holidaying in South Africa, Ashish was highly inspired by international ticketing websites and wanted to bring a revolutionary change in the way people in India thought or consumed ticketed entertainment. Web bookings for entertainment options were unheard of in India before. So after returning from South Africa, Ashish quit his job and decided to start his own company BigTree Entertainment Pvt Ltd. After extensive research for technology partner Ashish tied up with New Zealand based Vistas Entertainment Ltd. for the software infrastructure of the company to start www.bookmyshow.com in 2007.

Since then Ashish has been instrumental in building BookMyShow into a successful brand and bringing on board clients & brands like IPL, PVR, Sunburn, Supersonic, Formula 1, Inox and many more. Apart from being a young entrepreneur, Ashish, is also a competitive sailor.

Rajesh Balpande is the Co-Founder & Director of BigTree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. A MBA in Finance from Mumbai University, Rajesh started his career in 1997 as an Investment banker with The Chatterjee-Soros Fund. Post this stint, Rajesh decided to join college buddies Ashish & Parikshit to set up BigTree Entertainment in 1999.


Rajesh’s sharp financial acumen helped BigTree receive its first round of funding in 1999 when Chase Capital Partners decided to fund the company. But he was soon called into action to pull the company through the Dotcom bust and then a few years later during the Global Recession.


Since 2007 Rajesh has been instrumental in successfully taking BigTree through 3 rounds of funding bringing on board investors like Network 18, Accel Partners & SAIF Partners. At BigTree Rajesh is tasked with overseeing Business Development, Finance & Operations of BigTree's flagship product BookMyShow.

Parikshit Dar is the Co-Founder & Director of BigTree Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Rick as he is commonly known, started his career in 1997 after completing his MBA with Ashish & Rajesh at Sydenham College, Mumbai. Soon after, Rick began his career working with Dutch Multinational retailer SPAR. In 1999 Parikshit, joined Ashish & Rajesh to build BigTree Entertainment Ltd. With expertise in technology, Parikshit took charge of the ever expanding tech backbone of BigTree.

In 2007, Parikshit was at the forefront of building BookMyShow’s website and its supporting back end tech infrastructure. Subsequent rounds of venture capital has since allowed him to develop the technology arm into the largest team at BigTree. The team he leads also developed BookMyShow’s mobile app which accounts for more than 50% transactions in 2014. Making it one of the most successful mobile apps in the market.

Marzdi started his career as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture after competing his MBA with Ashish, Rick & Rajesh at Sydenham College, Mumbai. He then spent 8 years at Accenture working across a range of industries like Oil & Gas, Banking, Technology and E-commerce helping clients develop market entry strategies helping them improve their supply chains. During his time there, he also built expertise in CRM competencies, to better manage his clientèle's distribution chains.

There after he worked with one of India’s largest Diamond merchants, The Jasani Group. Marzdi was instrumental in helping them overhaul their Corporate Planning and Strategy projects as well as establishing their domestic jewellery business. He later went on to work as an Investment Banker with Lodha Capital Markets for 4 years focusing on the Retail and Restaurant business.

Since joining BookMyShow, Marzdi heads the Business Intelligence arm of the BookMyShow which oversees the Marketing, CRM & Analytics departments. He’s been integral in BookMyShow’s “Mood Kiya, Book Kiya” advertising campaign.

Marzdi is also a former National Snooker Champion winning the U-21 Snooker Nationals in Bangalore 2003.

With more than 30 years of work experience, Anil Makhija is the most senior manager at BigTree, thus bringing with him a reservoir of knowledge and corporate expertise. As VP-Service Delivery Anil heads BookMyShow’s offline services and at-venue ticketing arm for major sporting events like IPL, ISL, IPTL and mega music festivals like Sunburn and Supersonic. And so his responsibilities are immense, as he deals with the event organizers and attending customers face to face.

Prior to working with BigTree, Anil headed the Smart Card division at CA Satyam ASP Pvt, A joint venture between Computer Associates and Satyam Computers. Ltd.

With 12 years of work experience in the IT solutions sector, Anil is leveraging new technologies like RF frequency entry bands, state of the art Turnstile equipment, chip integrated tokens ensuring that BookMyShow always has something new to offer to both clients & customers.

Sesaat setelah semuanya siap, C.E.O Ashish Hemrajani keluar dari pekerjaannya di JWT, Co-Founder Parikshit Dar mengambil alih urusan teknologi, dan Co-Founder Rajesh Balpande mengambil alih urusan finansial.
